How Do I Take Care Of My Hair Being A Corporate Girlie

Okay, let’s address the bun in the room — being a corporate girlie is a lot. You’re juggling deadlines, meetings, iced coffee addictions, and somehow trying not to let your hair look like it went through a thunderstorm by 3 PM.
So here’s my real, simple, and sustainable haircare routine — for all my boss babes who don’t have time for 12-step routines or weekly chumpy sessions (no shade to grandma).

Step 1: Scalp Health > Everything

You can’t grow flowers in dry soil, right? Your scalp is your soil.
I use a clarifying shampoo once a week (usually Sundays) to get rid of sweat, pollution, and product buildup from dry shampoo and city dust.

Step 2: Micro-Oiling > Mega-Oiling

Gone are the days I’d soak my hair for 6 hours like a mustard-smelling oil stick.

Now I do micro-oiling:

  • Just 30 mins before a wash

  • Use 1–2 teaspoons max

  • Focus only on scalp and ends

  • Tie a loose bun, scroll IG, vibe

Step 3: Heat, but Make it Safe

I get it. Straightener is life. Blowdrying is survival.
But I never skip my heat protectant spray, even if I’m running late for that 9 AM Zoom.

Step 4: Wash Day = Hair Spa at Home

My Sunday wash is sacred:

  • Shampoo

  • Conditioner (mid-length to ends ONLY)

  • Leave-in serum on damp hair

  • Cotton T-shirt wrap (no towel. Ever.)

And then I let it air-dry while watching Koffee with Karan reruns

Step 5: Corporate Bun, But Make it Cute

On workdays:

  • I do low buns, sleek ponies, or cute claw clips

  • Always use a satin scrunchie — no breakage, no drama

  • Mid-week refresh with dry shampoo or braided sleep buns = 💯

And then I let it air-dry while watching Koffee with Karan reruns.
Some weeks I crush this routine. Other weeks? I’m just happy my hair is clean. But the key is: consistency > perfection. A little care regularly >>> big treatments once in a while.
