Let me tell you something — when you see a polished reel or a flawless photo pop up on my feed… just know it’s the tip of a very sweaty, glittery, snack-fueled iceberg.
So if you’ve ever wondered what really goes down on shoot day, here’s a full BTS download. No filter. No fluff. Just the real deal.
6:30 AM – Rise, Sip, Panic (a little)
My alarm goes off. I hit snooze. Twice. Then I get up, chug some warm water, and immediately check my to-do list like a nervous intern.
Makeup artist ETA? Confirmed. Brand products? Packed. Hair washed? Kinda.
Before anything else, chai. Always chai.
8:00 AM – Glam Begins
Enter: brushes, sponges, rollers, chaos.
My makeup artist and hairstylist are my dream team (and also my part-time therapists). While they do their magic, I go over the moodboard, angles, and creative brief with my content manager.
Mood: Soft glam with a hint of boss energy? Got it.
10:00 AM – Set-Up + Test Shots
We usually shoot at home or in a pre-booked studio. Lighting, backgrounds, brand props — all need to be just right.
Honestly? Natural light is my diva demand — if it’s cloudy, I will cry inside.
We do test shots, tweak the frame, yell “Can someone hold the reflector?!” like 15 times, and fight with ring lights. Business as usual.
11:30 AM – The Magic (and Madness) Begins
Here’s the truth: reels = 15 seconds. Real life = 2 hours of filming.
I shoot brand voiceovers, demo product shots, transitions (oh god the transitions), and B-roll for stories.
All while pretending I’m not sweating like it’s peak summer in Goa.
P.S. Outfit changes are real cardio.
2:00 PM – Snack + Sanity Break
No shoot survives without snacks. Team favorites: trail mix, iced coffee, cold fruit, and someone always brings chips because…balance.
We review footage, laugh at the bloopers (I once pronounced “niacinamide” like a dinosaur), and reset.
3:00 PM – Final Takes + Cleanup
We shoot a few backup angles, maybe a thumbnail pic, and then slowly start wrapping up. The glam is slightly faded, the curls are tired, but the content? Chef’s kiss.
I end the day with sore cheeks (from smiling), a full SD card, and usually a post-shoot selfie with messy hair and a big grin.
What You Don’t See on the Feed:
Retakes. Lots of them.
That one broken nail that haunts every close-up
Tripods falling mid-shoot 🙃
Me, yelling “Did we get that???” every 10 minutes
Creating branded content isn’t just about looking pretty in front of a camera. It’s planning, lighting, storytelling, editing, and still showing up with good energy — because you guys deserve nothing less.
So the next time you double-tap a post, just know — there’s a full mini production behind that glow.
