My 5-Step Skincare Routine That Actually Works in Humid Cities

Let’s be real — skincare in humid weather is a whole different beast. One second you’re glowing, the next you’re a glazed donut (and not in a cute way).
So after years of experimenting, sweating, breaking out, and restarting — here’s the 5-step routine that has truly worked for me — and yes, even in 90% humidity!

1.  Double Cleanse (But Gently!)

First things first — if you live in a city (like Mumbai) that feels like a steam room, cleansing is your holy grail.
I start with a gentle oil-based cleanser to melt sunscreen, makeup, and pollution. Then follow it up with a non-stripping gel cleanser.
Why it works: It keeps your pores clean without making your skin dry and overcompensate with more oil (aka breakout central).

2. Hydration > Layers

No 10-step K-beauty routine here. Just one solid, hydrating toner or essence is enough. I press it in with my palms — not cotton. Just one layer, that’s it.

3. Lightweight Moisturizer Is BAE

This is where most people go wrong: skipping moisturizer because it’s “too hot.”
No girl, your skin still needs barrier support — just make it light.

4. Sunscreen That Doesn’t Melt Your Face Off

IYKYK — the struggle of finding a sunscreen that doesn’t make you look like an oil well.
I switch between a matte mineral SPF for outdoors, and a hydrating SPF for indoors or under makeup.
Reapply. Every. 3. Hours. (Set an alarm. Do it for your future self.)

5. Night Reset Routine

At night, I use a very simple routine:
Cleanse → serum (1 active at a time) → moisturizer. That’s it.
No sheet masks, no layering battles, no Instagram trends.
Because honestly? Your skin heals best when you let it breathe.
If you’re in Mumbai, Chennai, Goa — or anywhere the weather feels like a facial sauna — trust me, these 5 steps will keep you glowy, not greasy.
✨Consistency > Complication
🧴 Hydration > Hype
💛 Skin > Trends
